{"id":99,"date":"2008-03-14T09:55:28","date_gmt":"2008-03-14T15:55:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/?p=99"},"modified":"2008-03-14T09:55:28","modified_gmt":"2008-03-14T15:55:28","slug":"swimswimswim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/?p=99","title":{"rendered":"Swim,Swim,Swim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its been awhile, but I&#8217;m still here.\u00a0 Not running, but we&#8217;ll get to that.\u00a0 This past Sunday my leg was feeling good, and knowing that I had a Dr&#8217;s appointment on Tuesday I wanted to make sure I would be able to remember where the pain was.\u00a0 So I went running.\u00a0 Took the kiddos in the jog stroller and went.\u00a0 Wanted to test the leg and put in 5 miles total.\u00a0 Didn&#8217;t feel pain until around mile 3.\u00a0 The pain was relatively light, so I decided to do it again on Monday night.\u00a0 Put in around 3.5 miles.\u00a0 Definitely felt it after that.\u00a0 But both were good runs.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday got up and hit the pool at the Y before the appointment.\u00a0 Swam a total of 950M, 3x 250M free and 2x100M breast.\u00a0 Felt good.<\/p>\n<p>Had the Dr&#8217;s appt and he couldn&#8217;t find anything in any tendons, muscles, ligaments, etc.\u00a0 X-rayed my knee and hip and both looked good.\u00a0 The only thing he could find was some reaction to physical manipulation around my meniscus.\u00a0 So based on when the injury began, he thinks I have a slight tear in my cartilage.\u00a0 Told me to take 3 weeks of no weight-bearing exercise along with 2 weeks of a strong anti-inflammatory.\u00a0 He was of the impression that I would still be able to run OKC on 3 weeks training if I kept my aerobic conditioning up.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think that is a good idea, if even possible.\u00a0 A long bike ride, even at a taxing pace is no substitute for the strain and exertion from a run of equal time.\u00a0 So I&#8217;m taking off running for the 3 weeks, while keeping up the swimming and biking.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see how the legs feel after that, but I should be good for the 1\/2 at OKC.<\/p>\n<p>Followed up by swimming Wed and this morning, and riding the stationary bike Thurs.\u00a0 All good workouts.\u00a0 Wed I broke 1KM swimming for the 1st time ever, putting in 1050M.\u00a0 Followed up with and even 1K this morning.\u00a0 Really digging the pool, and feeling a lot more at ease.\u00a0 Still need to get some ear plugs and work on breathing every 3rd stroke, though.\u00a0 The bike ride was good, constant effort of 95RPM for 30 min for a total of 8.9 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Next week I&#8217;ve vowed to make it to the 5:45 spin class at least twice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Its been awhile, but I&#8217;m still here.\u00a0 Not running, but we&#8217;ll get to that.\u00a0 This past Sunday my leg was feeling good, and knowing that I had a Dr&#8217;s appointment on Tuesday I wanted to make sure I would be able to remember where the pain was.\u00a0 So I went running.\u00a0 Took the kiddos in [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4,10,11],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-99","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category--2-2-2","category--2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2","category--2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/99","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=99"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/99\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=99"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=99"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/runningok.jankowskis.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=99"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
